.
I'm relieved.
I've found it.
Finally.
When my art teacher forced me, a rebellious and stupid teenager, to do this, I was angry and absolutely unenthusiastic.
I wanted to develop my own style, not to copy others.
I HATED this unit.
He put a guitar, two glasses, a bottle of wine and some sheets in the middle of a table, bored the pants off us with an endless monologue about the theory and history of Cubism and finished with: "Now it's your turn!"
Today I know that it was a good thing. I learned a lot and maybe it influenced me a bit too.

my mother and father are bauhaus-design/cubism fanatics and artists as well. I grew up surrounded by coffee-table art books on Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, Alexander Archipenko and Marcel Duchamp, etc.
AntwortenLöschenexcellent and original work :-) this is a style you should pursue.

AntwortenLöschenKisses.
I love it! There are so many things we don't want to do, but in hindsight they are very beneficial!
AntwortenLöschenThere must be some Picasso in you. I know what you mean . . .
AntwortenLöschenAll that training, those classes -- we didn't see the point.
Hind sight is always 20/20, ya know. We look back, appreciate it now. It all helped get us where we are today. (And we're not finished.)
By the way, it's a good piece.
Thanks for sharing.

I totally understand you. I'm in an art school and we constantly have to copy. Sometimes I understand, but sometimes I think it so frustrating.

AntwortenLöschenIt's always good to have a go at different things as it opens new way of thinking, even years later.
AntwortenLöschenIf you copy a big master like Picasso so good as you did in your own way then you surely have talent. Very nice painting.

AntwortenLöschenhe's a great blogger and has great sense of style. oh well
Braque would be proud--as would Picasso. You should be too; you totally absorbed Cubism. But I don't know about pursuing the style any further; it's dated.
AntwortenLöschenDie Übung macht den Maister.Ich glaube, du bist gerade eine.
AntwortenLöschenYou did such a great job for 'hating' the idea! It's your version of Cubism and it rocks!
